Mangala Valles

An ancient view of the Mangala Valles, 3,5 billion years ago?

Water formed the Mangala Valles (the large channel in the middle) with numerous other channels that lead to the Amazonis Planitia.

At the top left the Amazonis Planitia with in the middle the ridge of the Gordii Dorsum and at the top right the Lucus Sulci (a region just southwest of the volcano Olympus Mons).
Torrential floods coming from the Tharsis plateau with the 4 large volcanoes(which is situated right and further) and the Daedalia PLanum (bottom) created these structures on Mars.
